Job Purpose
The Livelihoods Officer will support the implementation of livelihood, employment, entrepreneurship, and economic empowerment activities aimed at improving access to sustainable income-generating and employment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support implementation of livelihood activities in Herat and Farah.
- Conduct and support livelihood needs and opportunity assessments.
- Support identification and selection of eligible beneficiaries according to approved criteria.
- Facilitate livelihood, employment, entrepreneurship, and skills development activities.
- Support beneficiaries in identifying suitable livelihood and employment opportunities.
- Coordinate with training providers, employers, businesses, and other stakeholders.
- Provide follow-up support and mentoring to beneficiaries where required.
- Coordinate closely with the Skills Mapping and Job Matching/MIS Officer.
- Support market linkage activities and connect beneficiaries with relevant market actors.
- Collect and document beneficiary and activity information.
- Monitor livelihood activities and report progress and challenges to the Project Manager.
- Contribute to project reports, success stories, case studies, and lessons learned.
- Ensure activities comply with AREP and UNDP requirements.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Project Manager.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, rural development, development studies, social sciences, or related fields.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant field experience in livelihoods, agriculture, community engagement, and implementation support.
- Strong knowledge of Herat context is required.
- Good English and fluency in Dari required.
