Job Description

Job Summary

  • Plan and implement poultry and livestock project activities according to approved work plans.
  • Provide technical guidance on poultry and livestock management, feeding, breeding, housing, hygiene, and animal health.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor beneficiaries and project activities.
  • Support vaccination, deworming, disease prevention, and animal health activities.
  • Conduct training and awareness sessions for beneficiaries on improved poultry and livestock practices.
  • Support the distribution and monitoring of poultry, livestock, feed, and related inputs.
  • Collect project data and maintain accurate beneficiary and activity records.
  • Prepare regular activity and progress reports.
  • Coordinate with communities, local authorities, veterinary services, and project staff.
  • Identify challenges and provide appropriate technical solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and safeguarding standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science, Animal Science, Agriculture, Livestock Production, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in poultry, livestock, agriculture, or livelihood projects.
  • Good knowledge of poultry and livestock production, animal health, feeding, breeding, and disease prevention.
  • Good communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work in field and rural areas.
  • Good computer skills, particularly MS Word and Excel.
  • Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto; basic English is an advantage.
