Job Summary
The Project Manager / Team Leader will be responsible for the overall management, coordination, and implementation of development projects, with a focus on disaster risk reduction, infrastructure, environmental management, and rural development. The role requires strong leadership, planning, and communication skills to ensure effective project delivery in challenging environments.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, planning, and execution of project activities in line with approved work plans and donor requirements.
- Develop detailed implementation strategies, timelines, and resource allocation plans.
- Supervise project staff and provide guidance to ensure effective teamwork and accountability.
- Coordinate with government authorities, local communities, and development partners to foster collaboration and alignment.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor regulations, and national standards.
- Oversee project monitoring systems to track progress against objectives and indicators.
- Prepare timely and high‑quality reports for donors, stakeholders, and management.
- Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Provide mentorship and capacity‑building support to project staff and community stakeholders.
- Promote participatory approaches and inclusive practices in project implementation.
- Demonstrate strong leadership in managing diverse teams under challenging conditions.
Academic Qualifications
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Disaster Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Rural Development, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience managing development projects, preferably in disaster risk reduction, infrastructure, environmental management, or rural development.
- Proven experience in project planning, coordination, supervision, and reporting.
- Experience in engaging with government authorities, local communities, and development partners.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project teams and deliver results in complex environments.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Proficiency in project cycle management and donor compliance.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in Pashto and Dari (oral and written).
- Proficiency in English (oral and written).
