Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced and professional Transit & Freight Forwarding Manager to manage and develop our international transit, freight forwarding, and cross-border logistics operations from our Kabul office.

The ideal candidate should have strong practical experience in Afghanistan and regional/international transit operations, particularly transportation corridors connecting Afghanistan with Central Asia, Pakistan, Iran, and other Asian markets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing shipments, developing transit routes, coordinating with international logistics partners, negotiating transportation rates, handling customs and transit requirements, and ensuring the safe and timely movement of cargo from origin to destination.

Job Requirements

* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, International Trade, or a related field.

* Minimum 7 years of professional experience in freight forwarding, international transit, transportation, logistics, or a closely related field.

* Strong practical knowledge of Afghanistan’s transit and freight forwarding sector.

* Experience with Central Asian and regional transportation corridors is highly preferred.

* Good understanding of customs procedures, border transit, shipping documentation, and international cargo transportation.

* Experience working with international freight forwarders, transport companies, customs agents, and logistics partners.

* Strong negotiation and rate-analysis skills.

* Strong communication, coordination, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.

* Ability to manage multiple international shipments simultaneously.

* Good computer, Microsoft Office, email, and reporting skills.

* Good command of English is required.

* Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto is required.

* Knowledge of additional regional languages is an advantage.

Preferred Experience:

Candidates with practical experience in one or more of the following areas will be given preference:

* Afghanistan–Central Asia transit corridors

* Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, and Iran transit routes

* Cross-border trucking and road transportation

* Rail freight and multimodal transportation

* Sea freight through regional ports

* Air freight operations

* Customs clearance and border procedures

* International freight quotations and rate negotiations

* Project cargo and commercial cargo transportation

* International trade and logistics documentation
