Job Description

Job Summary

  • To contribute and ensure proper diagnosis and treatment of all complex and complicated cases
  • To help junior staff for provision of quality surgical care according to the national protocols and guidelines.
  • Conduct regular technical seminars and discussion forum for junior staff
  • To provide daily case presentation during the round and morning report to the junior staff
  • To ensure specialized surgical care is carried out based on EPHS requirements.
  • To contribute in capacity building of junior staff through conducting on the job training and seminars.
  • To provide recommendations and help head of Surgery Department on technical and management issues.
  • To attend all Surgery  related consultations and on call duties as per schedule
  • To carry out researches and provide support on it to the junior staff.
  • To ensure proper implementation of HMIS system.
  • To do evening visit of admitted patients.
  • To work as head of the department in case of need.
  • To give proper directions to nurses regarding infection prevention and patients care.
  • Attend all meetings and training provided by OPHA.
  • Perform any other related task given by line manager .

Job Requirements

  • Graduated from Recognized Medical University & Specialization in General Surgery is must
  • At least 3 year working experience as general surgeon in MoPH hospitals
  • Fluent in both National languages (Pashto and Dari) & Intermediate knowledge of English language
  • Able to perform night duties
  • Good interpersonal and communication skill & good training skill
  • The ability to manage other people involved in a patient’s care
  • The ability to create tailored treatment plans
  • Mastery of all medical instruments needed for treatment
  • The ability to provide accurate effective care even under pressure

  • Act according to the policies of OPHA.
  • Keep confidentiality with issues related to OPHA.
  • Develop Spirit of co-operation and understanding among members of the team.
  • Work with honesty and co-operative attitude and keep a high standard of quality.
  • All other interdictions are stipulated in the staff regulation and other OPHA policies along with the disciplinary measures and all these policies are part of the staff contract with OPHA.
