Design Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Design Engineer to lead the design and technical aspects of our distribution substations and transmission line projects. Based at our Kabul office, the successful candidate will design transmission lines, substations, and distribution networks, while coordinating with project teams to ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable standards, and approved specifications, supporting the successful and timely delivery of projects.

Job Requirements

• Design and analyze overhead transmission lines using PLS-CADD, including route alignment, tower spotting, sag-tension calculations, and clearance checks.
• Design and analyze transmission towers and supporting structures using PLS-TOWER under applicable loading conditions, including wind, ice, conductor, and seismic loads.
• Prepare and review design calculations, technical reports, engineering drawings, tower spotting plans, sag-tension charts, and structure schedules.
• Review survey data, route profiles, and geotechnical information and incorporate them into the transmission line design.
• Ensure designs comply with project specifications and applicable international standards, including IEC, ASCE, TIA, and other relevant codes.
• Coordinate with electrical, geotechnical, survey, construction, and other engineering teams to ensure proper project integration.
• Provide technical support during project execution and construction, including site visits and field inspections when required.
• Prepare and review technical proposals, tender documents, BOQs, and responses to technical clarifications.
• Use Primavera P6 for project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and updating project activities when required.
• Perform other related technical and engineering duties assigned by management.
• Supervise and manage daily construction activities, including excavation, foundation works, reinforcement, concrete pouring, equipment installation, testing, and commissioning, in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
